What's
Hot for 2007? Technology to drive your profits next
year.
Selling VoIP to business requires a clear understanding
of the differences between residential and business-grade
services, says Gavin McDougal, managing director at
VoIP provider, ISPhone.
"Educating your customer on the benefits of
IP telephony will ensure they receive a long-term
return on their investment and will give you a solid
platform to sell additional services" Gavin says.
Making
the switch to VoIP
A successful switchover by small businesses to VoIP
is becoming more achievable as new service products
become available.
It
pays to look before you leap
Using a service provider can bring big benefits
to a voice over internet protocol network, reaching
out to locations where a company doesn't have a network
presence. However, choosing the wrong partner can
cause big trouble.
False
promises damage VoIP reputation
Consumer VoIP providers selling services
as enterprise/SME solutions are potentially damaging
the VoIP industry's reputation and setting an unreasonably
low benchmark for pricing. While rates such as 10c
untimed anywhere in Australia offer an attractive
proposition to anyone making STD calls, customers
are bound to be turned off by the technology if they
don't receive the service they expected.
Brodie
on the ISPhone
ISPhone has appointed Greg Brodie as its
new Senior Sales Channel manager. Brodie's responsibilities
will include identifying and recruiting new channel
partners, developing new business opportunities and
expanding the sales team.
Cash
in on VoIP
If anyone is still in any doubt as to the impact voice
over Internet is having on the local enterprise telephony
market, they need only look at recent statistics from
IDC.
In the December quarter last year, 60 percent of
new telephony equipment sales were in the IP sector,
with IP PBX units significantly outselling traditional
PABXs.

Consumer
cowboys risking the reputation of enterprise VoIP
Consumer VoIP operators selling services into the
enterprise market are selling false promises and devaluing
the industry, according to the head of one of Australia’s
business-focused IP telephony providers.

the company's continued growth in the reseller channel.
