Gavin is one of the few visionaries who recognized the potential of VoIP technology long before most of us had even heard of it. In late 2003 a smart US company caught his eye; ISPhone, Inc. was working with nifty new technology and rapidly gaining a reputation for low cost calls and great service. Sensing that he was onto something big, he quickly became involved as an external sales and marketing expert, working closely with Victor von Schlegell, the company's President.
As the VoIP phenomenon swept through the US, Gavin was looking out for the next big opportunity. Working closely with ISPhone, Inc. he established an independent Australasian ISPhone company in 2005 and honed in on the lifeblood of the Australian economy, the SME.
His American experience and the heritage of the overwhelming success of the ISPhone, Inc. business model stand him and the Australian company in good stead. With an expert local team he has developed a business grade VoIP wholesale product to support thousands of small to medium businesses throughout Australia.
Prior to leading the charge in the VoIP revolution, Gavin honed his sales, marketing and finance skills in the theatrical and motion picture industry. Working for A.M. Productions in London, England, Gavin was involved in production development and capital raising for several European film production and distribution companies, including Academy Award winning producer Hans de Weers.
Steven Ikeda
Chief Technology Officer
Steve has nearly 15 years experience within the telco industry spanning from the
US to
Australia. Living in the
US, he was one of the pioneers in the internet industry in
Hawaii running a successful ISP. With this experience he has consulted to other firms in the
US setting up various ISP services.
Upon moving to
Australia, he was involved with the Systems roll out of one of
Australia’s largest 2nd tier telco/ISP. During his tenure there, he designed the systems infrastructure to scale from several thousand users to 100,000 users. After this, he moved on to focusing on Mobile phone billing systems and working with one of
Australia’s largest Direct Marketing Mobile Phone providers.
In taking his experience of both the ISP industry and Telecommunications billing, he was the CIO/CTO for
Australia’s largest residential VoIP provider. It was there where he was responsible for designing the national network as well project managing a build out of a new billing/CRM system for this business.
Steve's role is the day-to-day running of the ISPhone network as well as putting together a strategic framework to transition our existing VoIP focus to an access-agnostic next generation network, capable of delivering multiple services to customers as required.
He also manages a team of engineers and the developing of new product initiatives to leverage the growth of the network and take advantage of the latest developments in IP and voice networking technology.
Matt Harris
Senior Accounts Manager
Matt has been in with the telecommunications industry for the last ten years. His career started with the traditional PABX side and 7 years with M2 Technology head office in support and technical roles. Relocating to Sydney in April 2004, he joined Australian Business Telephone Company and fulfilled roles in PABX/voicemail support and service, account management and management of help desk. His last post was as Channel Manager for (Quintum VoIP gateway Distributor) Comms Connect for the last year.
These experiences have led to a deep understanding and commitment to superior customer service and support. Matt's role as Senior Account Manager is to be the major liaison point for ISPhone channel partners.
He holds an Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree from Adelaide University.
Dennis Mapanao
Channel Sales Manager
Dennis comes to ISPhone as a Channel Sales Manager with 7 years experience in the IT&T industry focusing on corporate sales, account management and client relations. Dennis’ role as a Channel Sales Manager is also to work towards growing ISPhone's reseller channel by recruiting new partners and developing new business opportunities in the international VoIP arena. He will also be working along side IPhone’s Account Managerial team.
Prior to ISPhone, Dennis was an Account Manager with Brennan IT and SecureTelecom based in Sydney where he managed a portfolio of clients. He has also worked in other sales roles with other IT&T services firms and with 3 (previously Hutchison Telecoms).
Ravin Panambalana
Accounting Manager
Head of Finance & Administration in the Clothing industry for 18 years covering Manufacture, Import, Export & Wholesale for companies in
Australia,
Fiji
Islands and
Southern Africa. The manufacturing companies in Fiji & Southern Africa employed in excess of 450 persons. Returned to
Australia on completion of the Southern African contract and served as head of Finance and Administration in companies engaged in Architectural Metal Fabrication and Electronic equipment manufacture, marketing and maintenance prior to joining the Telco industry with ISPhone Australasia Pty Ltd. As Accounting Manager of ISPhone he is engaged in an autonomous role covering all aspects of Financial/ Management Accounting & Administration.
Sian Kiss
Solutions Manager
Sian has nearly 8 years of experience in the telecommunications industry working for one of
Australia’s largest Direct Marketing Mobile Phone Distributors as well as the leading residential VoIP service provider in
Australia.. Prior to this, she was involved in the hospitality industry for nearly 8 years with management level experience for a leading international restaurant chain.
During her years in the telecommunications industry, she was instrumental in creating, managing and developing training materials for resellers and wholesalers. Also, she has been involved in process reengineering to drive efficiencies within call center organizations as well project management experience in large scale telecommunications systems.
Taking this experience, she is instrumental in working with our wholesalers, resellers, and carriers to ensure that services are properly provisioned and ISPhone’s VoIP Solutions are delivered on time. Her key focus is to ensure that we make our customers our number one priority.
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Christie
Office Manager
Lizzie is our first point of contact at ISPhone. Along with reception duties and running the office, Lizzie is also involved in events organising, and office management. She ensures that the office is running smoothly and that day to day tasks are met.
